Privacy notice

Last updated: 20 October 2026

This notice explains what personal data InstallHook collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what you can do about it. It covers three groups of people: people we contact about our services, people who open a private video link we send, and visitors to this website. It is written to meet Articles 13 and 14 of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR.

The short version: we collect business contact details from public company websites and app store listings so we can offer our services. We do not sell data. You can opt out at any time by emailing or replying "stop" to any message, and we will not contact you again.

1. Who we are

InstallHook makes video ads for subscription apps. The controller of your personal data is Sai Rakshith Muda, trading as InstallHook.

Email:

2. If we contacted you about our services

What we collect. Your name, job title, the company you work for, your business email address, your LinkedIn or X profile link and your country. We also note public facts about your company's apps (store listing, ratings and public ads in the Meta Ad Library), the messages we send you and any replies.

Where it comes from. Public company websites (team, about, careers and press pages), app store listings and public professional profiles. We do not buy contact lists.

Why we use it. To offer our video ad services to businesses that may need them, and to keep a record of who we have contacted, so we never message anyone too often or after they have said no.

Legal basis. Our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR): telling app businesses about a service that is relevant to their work. We keep this proportionate: business details only, a small number of messages, and a way to opt out in every one of them. In the UK we only send unsolicited emails to company addresses (limited companies and LLPs), not to sole traders or partnerships, as the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations require.

How to opt out. Email , or reply "stop" or "no thanks" to any message. We will stop contacting you and add you to our do-not-contact list. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing.

How long we keep it. We review the contact details and notes we hold every 12 months and delete what we no longer need, so if you do not become a client we do not keep your details for longer than that. If you ask us to delete them, we do it within 30 days. Our do-not-contact list keeps only what we need to honour your request (your email address or profile link and the date), for as long as we do any outreach.

Each link we send is made for one person. When it is used we record the time, what happened (page opened, video played, video finished), the country the request came from (a two-letter code), whether it looks like an automated link scanner or link preview, and a one-way hash of the browser's user-agent string. We do not store IP addresses and the video page sets no cookies.

We use this, on the basis of our legitimate interests, to know whether the video we made for you was watched and to tell real viewers apart from email security scanners. We keep it for as long as we keep your contact record, review it every 12 months, and delete it within 30 days if you ask.

4. If you become a client

We keep your contract, invoices, payment records, the files you send us (such as screen recordings and brand assets) and our messages with you. We use them to deliver the work (Article 6(1)(b), performance of a contract) and to meet tax and accounting duties (Article 6(1)(c), legal obligation). We keep them while we work together and then for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which can be up to 8 years.

5. If you visit this website

This site has no analytics, no tracking cookies, no ads and no third-party scripts or fonts. Cloudflare, which hosts it, processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks. If you email us, we use your message and address to reply.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data, and we never share it with anyone for their own marketing. We use a few service providers who process data for us under contract:

We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

7. International transfers

We run InstallHook from India, and our providers store data in the United States and other countries. When personal data leaves the UK or the EEA, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum. Ask us if you would like details.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or stop using it. Email and we will reply within one month. Wherever you live, you can ask us to stop contacting you and delete your details.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or the data protection authority where you live. We would appreciate the chance to fix it first.

9. Automated decisions

We use software to sort public app data and suggest which companies might be a good fit. A person reviews every suggestion and decides who to contact. We make no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.

10. Changes to this notice

If we change this notice we will update this page and the date at the top.
